I don't know a whole lot about NFTs, but that's what I thought of when I started the reading. While I've always thought of art as collectible, it's weird for me to think of digital art as collectible because in my mind, if it's digital, it's easily accessible and doesn't really need to be "collected". However, protecting art via a digital lock changes the situation.
When Work says "information is the key to value", she means that the more people know about a thing, the more valuable it is. This relates to the idea of value and collectability today because of the way our generation operates. The majority of people our age are not too interested in art, whether it be fine art or contemporary art. But as Tony said, we are very much interested in different memes and GIFs because we know them. If you were to ask Gen Z about some work of art by Picasso that we are unaware of, many of us would show little to know interest because we aren't informed on his works. However, ask us about different memes and GIFs and we become very interested because we all know and enjoy them, so they have great value to us.
